7:19 pm - Shauntoberfest '05: Success
shauntoberfest went perfect. at first we weren't sure if it was gonna go down cuz we saw Tim's (shaun's stepdad) car in the driveway and some lights on but shaun remembered that his mom and tim took only one car up and kept lights on to make it look like someone was home. so needless to say, shauntoberfest did go down in the history books as one of the best parties ever. thanks to whoever came. enjoy the pics...

11:04 pm - back in lowell
hello everyone. today i came back from Old Orchard Beach with the fam. overall, the week was nice. once shaun left it got kinda boring but it was still good. very relaxing. AND i got to finish my second bookof the summer. woot woot. i never read. and in case ur wondering, the book was Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. he amazes me. makes u think so much. god i love this guy. i love him so much, i went out and bought two more of his books, Fight Club and Diary. even tho i've already seen the movie Fight Club, i figured it'd still be good to read the actual book. i'm still looking for his new book Haunted but i havent been able to find it yet. if anyone knows where i can find or if it's even out yet, holler back.

anywho, 10 days still school. wow, where has the summer gone. its gonna feel good to see everyone back at school but i dont wanna leave everyone here just yet. things at home are settling down. my great-grandmother ended up passing away around 5:30 AM on the 7th, the day we left for OOB. i think it was good we got to get away cuz it was really bothering my mom. her burial is on the 27th, which means i have to come home for the day. not something i wanna be doing my first weekend back at school but oh well, thats life.

anyways, red sox are doing good so im happy. last day at USA Today is on tuesday and im gettin the big kahuna check for about $1200. i am excited. as i said, the summer is winding down and so is this entry.

here's a link to OOB pics.
all 93 of them.
enjoy.

10:24 pm - ahem
hey everyone. not much has happened since the last update. this past weekend i was in CT. visited brenden, traci and alexei. i was supposed to see tim, john, bennett and matt demps but each had a legit reason. got home sunday around 3 and then shaun, rudy and i went up to the bombshelter in manchester for the oam / piracy / jonee earthquake show. it was very good. first time seeing piracy / oam since last august (ya, almost a whole year). definitely missed seeing those guys. both have become really good since. today i just did some work for my grandmother and got a new phone =D well its the same model, just this one works *hopefully*. i think for now on, im gonna end each post with a link to my website cuz i get no feedback at all so i feel like no one looks at it. i need it to get semi-popular so here it goes.

3:48 pm - ya i suck at updating...
ya i know. i've gone back to my old ways of never updating. i sincerely apologize but it's not like anyone's interested in what goes on in the life of matt. if u do, please comment.

so it's been a month since the last time i updated. well, almost a month. don't remember much but i'll try. i believe since then, my parents were away for a weekend which was VERY fun. had a lot of fun and saw some ppl i havent seen in a while. also discovered that brian mokoro lives across the street from me, which is pretty sweet.

things at USA Today have been going real well. they started having me do some graphic work for them. i actually made two graphics for a part of their intranet. they absolutely loved them, especially some lady in philadelphia. if you wanna see them, the URL's are http://mpfurtado.250free.com/USAToday/top_image.jpg and http://mpfurtado.250free.com/USAToday/logo_list.jpg . they're also having me work on advertisements to put into school newspapers. i just finished up one for URI today. you can see it at http://mpfurtado.250free.com/USAToday/URI-ad.jpg . i'm gonna be working on one to put in the Umass Amherst newspaper in the near future.

this past weekend was the holiday weekend. saturday, me nick jeremy & shaun went over to mike hines' house for a lil get together. got to see some old faces from LHS so that was good. kicked ass at beirut like usual =P haha. sunday, me nick & jeremy went up to hampton beach around 10:30. we got to the hampton bridge at 10:30 and it took us an hour to get into the actual center, fuckin ridiculous. but we found out that hines was also up there so we called him up. he was there with ricky regan and andrew jalbert. we hung with them at an arcade for a bit then we went on the beach and played some frisbee. got home around 2 AM. monday (the 4th) me, nick, jeremy, ben downey, tony fells and some other kids played baseball under the lights. yes, sandlot style. it was awesome. we even had big league chew haha. the actual game was amazing too. my team won 13-12. very good. i believe we're playing again tonite so that should be fun.

but like i said, things have been good lately. it's weird to say that im goin back to school next month. seems so soon. ive already been home for 2 months but it definitely doesnt feel like it. a week from friday im gonna be making a trip down to CT to see some buddies. oh and on this sunday, im goin to see dave matthews with nick so im very stoked about that. i guess thats all for now. later people.

OH and how can i forget. i bought a domain and my new website is officially up. heres the link, http://www.mfgraphics.net

10:57 am - update
hello all.
lately i've just been trying to get my laptop back to normal.
it's almost back to it's good ole self.
it's just been a pain in the ass.
a huge one.
now that i'm gettin all my programs back, i have to cram down on a shit load of work that i have to do for my grandmother, both for her own company and USA Today.
not looking forward to it.

yesterday, i mowed the lawn.
took me 2 hours haha.
stupid hill out in the front. i was going up it, slipped and hurt my knee.
ya i'm an idiot.

umm last night me and barnesy went to the red sox game.
it was a good time. they won 10-3.
but it was hot as balls.
by the time we got to fenway i was sweating sooooo much.
quite disgusting.
some fans sitting behind us got kicked out cuz they were giving some lady shit and just being assholes.
i was happy about that becuz they were starting to annoy me.

today, no idea what i'm doing.
i have to load Microsoft Office onto my virtual PC so that'll take some time.
i'll prolly end up cramming down on some work for my grandmother.
perhaps play some lacrosse? who knows
tomorrow i have to go into the USA Today office in woburn.
oh and i thought i was gettin a paid internship with some guy at WFNX
BUT
turns out:
A) it's for his other company (some promotion and management company called Pirate!)
B) it's not paid
which really sucks cuz i was hopin that this could get me through the summer.
obviously not.
so needless to say, i'm still lookin for a job.
in theory, i'm making $200/week as it is now.
$100 for my grandmother's company
$100 for USA Today
but the USA Today job just gives me a check for $1000 in august.
so in reality, i'm only gettin $100/week, which isnt THAT bad but it's definitely not good enough.
alrite time for me to shut up.

12:07 am - back in action
hello everybody. today i got my laptop back. only problem is that they had to replace my hard drive so i lost most of my files. luckily i was able to back up some files, mainly my artwork and websites. however, i lost all the files for my brand new website (which was almost done). also lost the database i was making for my grandmother, which had over 200 entries already in it. definite suckage. so today i dedicated to re-installing all the programs that i lost. here's a list of just some of them:

- Adobe Photoshop CS
- Adobe Illustrator CS
- Adobe InDesign CS
- Adobe Image Ready
- Adobe GoLive
- Macromedia Flash MX Pro
- Macromedia Dreamweaver MX
- Macromedia FreeHand MX
- Macromedia Fireworks MX
- AOL Instant Messenger
- Mozilla Firefox
- Netscape Navigator
- M-Audio Driver
- Virtual PC (still need to install the Windows 2000 OS)
- Limewire
- ourTunes
- You Control Tunes
- Sizzling Keys
- Windows Media Player
- RealPlayer

still have a lot more to go. oh well, it'll be back to it's original self soon. i hope.
anywho, now that i have photoshop back i was able to upload all the pictures from the protest. they can all be found here. also did some photography this week so once i put those on the net i'll introduce them to you guys.

11:48 pm - ugh
since i've been home i've been quite confused and frustrated. it seems like i try and try and nothing ever happens. it seems like i always act too late. on my way home tonight, i thought about some stuff. i've been wantin to get closer to this one girl but now i feel as if it is too late. i never get the impression that she may be interested in me. it just pisses me off cuz while i was at school, we would always talk about how we shoulda dated and yada yada yada. now that im home it, things are exactly the same way as they were before college.

whatever.

ANYWAYS
today was a good day.
woke up early. bought the new coldplay cd.
which is reall good.
hung out with sandra and amy (first time with her since august).
it was very fun. watched the dane cook dvd.
felt really good to see her again =)
picked up jeff from school.
while i was waiting in the parking lot i saw shellane so we talked.
haven't seen her since august too.
felt good.
hung out with shaun and his friend mike from school.
went out to eat at hooters.
which was amazing.
went to max's and played some mini-golf.
i won of course lol
allie from school visited us cuz she lives right in nashua.
good seeing her.
hit up the driving range.
went back to shaun's dad's house and played some pool.
i did alright.
then came home

TOMORROW
i have an interview at USA Today where my grandmother works.
it's for an internship where i basically just do research on college newspapers.
i won't get paid weekly but at the end of the summer i will get a check for $1000.
still looking for a real job.
ugh this sucks.

10:06 pm - update
hello everybody. friday night was kristen's prom which was wicked fun. i got ready around 1:50 and went over to her house at 2:30. there we took some pictures and the limo picked us up, which was amazing. it was a ford excursion limo. so sweet. from there we went to her friend katie's house. took a bunch of pictures. met up with the 5 other couples. then we went to the dhs pre-prom where they took a big picture of all the couples and then introduced each couple. after that we went to the actual prom which was in the boston mariot long wharf, which was beautiful. it was kind of nutty in the beginning but it was still good. dancing was really fun. my shin splints started to hurt real bad but i still danced cuz i was feeling it haha. food was pretty good. after the prom we got changed and everyone went on a boston harbor cruise from midnight til 6 AM lol. it was basically the same thing as the prom, just longer. even tho it was really long, it was still a good time. got to watch the sunrise which was pretty sweet. we then took a school bus back to dhs and got back around 8. picked up my tux then kristen drove me home. then i passed out on my bed lol. all in all i had an awesome time. here are some pictures.

current mood: tired
